There are four primary functions for camera image processing within WildTrax:
- Image tagging — Classify species and their characteristics (individual[s]-level tags), as well as characteristics of the location (image-level tags) captured by the camera.
- This step includes determining the sampling effort of the camera by applying image FOV tags where the images collected are not accurately capturing the sampling area (e.g., lens was covered by snow, i.e., thus should not be considered in the sample effort).
- Field of View review — Confirm corrections made to sampling effort by reviewing the image FOV tags, if applied.
- Species verification — Verify the correctness of the tags applied during manual tagging.
- Validate location information — Confirm that the location information associated with the media on WildTrax is correct (i.e., location names match the camera prefix).
All image sets camera project tasks with the status ’Ready for Tagging’ can be tagged. Unless you are the organization or project admin, you can only tag the tasks that are assigned to you.
