We’re thrilled to announce the release of wildrtrax 1.3.0, the R package designed to supercharge your scientific research with WildTrax data. This version comes packed with exciting new features and improvements:

Acoustic classification tools: We’ve introduced some new powerful functions to help you dive deeper into the results of acoustic classifiers in WildTrax. Check out these features in our Acoustic Classifiers guide.

  • wt_evaluate_classifier(): Lets you evaluate the performance of acoustic classifiers at various resolutions. Calculates precision, recall, and F-score of BirdNET for a requested sequence of thresholds.
  • wt_get_threshold(): Retrieves the score threshold that maximizes F-score, which is a trade-off between precision and recall.
  • wt_additional_species(): Checks for species reported by BirdNET that the human listeners did not detect in the project at various resolutions.

New and upgraded functions:

  • wt_dd_summary(): Querying data from Data Discover has never been easier. This new function allows you to effortlessly access and summarize data, streamlining your research process. For detailed guidance, check out our APIs documentation.
  • wt_add_grts(): Intersect your locations with GRTS IDs from NABat. This function simplifies spatial analysis and integration with NABat datasets.
  • wt_download_media(): Formerly known as wt_download_tags(), this function now supports broader media downloads in batches from WildTrax, making it easier to download recordings and images as well as acoustic tag clips and spectrograms.

Get started with wildrtrax today! We believe these updates will significantly enhance your research capabilities and make your experience with WildTrax more productive and enjoyable.
